Homebrew Caelitaur Species Details
While no one quite knows how the Caelitaur came to be, there are many theories that relate to their conception. From fay realm shenanigans to arcane experiments, even the oldest members of the race are still guessing about the beginning. Regardless, the fact remains that there are now a rare race of half-humanoid half-grasshopper people hopping around the resident swamps and lakes.
People of the Caelitaur are often attuned to the nature around them and pride themselves on being talented druids and clerics. Since they are a rarer species, Caelitaurian youth don't often explore the world around them. The few that do make it outside of the swamps sometimes suffer from culture shock, since Caelitar tribes are very focused on collectivism. Something else that is unique about the Caelitaur race is that they are able to create a buzzing hum by rubbing their back legs together. Unlike ordinary grasshoppers, Caelitaur can create entire musical scores with extraordinary precision and tuning. When passing by a swamp near a tribe, one could often hear the nighty choruses that Caelitaurian bards perform to anyone lucky enough to be nearby.
Age - Caelitaurs age a little faster than humans, reaching maturity at around 15 years and having an expected life span of around 60 years.
Size - Caelitaurs stand a little on the short side at about 5 ft tall. Your size is Medium.
