Homebrew Aglikay Species Details
The Aglikay are a small draconic race originating from a place of toxic air, darkness, lush forestry, and lack of large bodies of water. They average of 3 1/2 feet tall and 5-6ft in length. Aglikay have a strong sense of smell, average vision, and quick movement with sturdy claws to climb the cave walls and rocker formations that they typically inhabit. Diet consists of small rodents, vermin, and meat.
Aglikay Traits
Racial traits include, but are not limited to, darkvision, draconic language, and an additional custom traitNocturnal
The Aglikay inhabit a place covered in darkness and as such, their sight has adapted. They can see easily up to 100 feet or more in pure darkness and are unaffected by dim lighting conditions.
Exact bonus to darkvision should be calculated by the roll of 2 d20 and 1 d10. Additional magical items, gained traits, spells etc. can add onto this
Draconic
The Aglikay are a dragon race and as such can only speak in the Draconic language. Common cannot be used without extensive learning, prevent the Character from speaking in Common until they have reached level 5.
If you want a little fun, every time someone speaks to you in Common, roll a dice to see how much of it you understand
Dodge
The Aglikay are agile creatures with quick reaction speeds, this allows them to slip out of situations that would normally end quite poorly. Roll an additional D6 alongside the D20 + Dexterity modifier.
(This trait does not stack with cast spells or magical items. If applicable, you must choose to select the trait or magic before you roll for an evasive action.
May be overruled by the DM/GM if they please)
Camouflage
The Aglikay have the ability to slow down their heart rate enough that the biolluminescent markings darken to near black like the rest of their scales. This gives a strong stealth advantage in darkened areas. This comes at the cost of self-exhaustion as the flow of oxygen to the body is reduced. A stealth bonus of +2 is applied in dim lighting conditions and +5 in darkness. Camouflage prevents the character from attacking or moving, but does not prevent the use of evasive maneuvers where the Dodge trait applies.
Camouflage takes one action to engage and another to disengage so plan your turns accordingly
Meak
The Aglikay are built around speed and agility, therefore they are not very tough despite your typical idea of a dragon. Without much meat on the bone your characters Health Pool is fixed to 4 to begin with. Other sources of HP may be applied after the character has reached level 2
//Yes I know this means you can die from twisting your ankle. Welcome to life as an Aglikay
