Homebrew Arachne Species Details
The Arachne race allegedly arose from a weaver capable of weaving a tapestry beyond even the capabilities of the gods, who in anger cursed the woman to weave all the days of her life. If you ask an Arachne, of course, they'll say that this story is blatantly impossible, because the gods got weaving from the Arachne. (Note: the plural of Arachne is Arachne. Yes, this can be confusing.)
Arachne Traits
The spawn of a spider and a human.Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age
Arachne, much like spiders, mature quickly, becoming adults at the age of 2 or 3 and having lifespans comparable to humans'.
Alignment
Arachne don't tend toward any particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Your base climbing is 15 feet.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Spider Walk
You have a climb speed half to your walking speed. You can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Additionally, you ignore movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Webbing
You can cast the spell web a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell. You regain all uses when you finish a long rest.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Undercommon.
