Homebrew Abyssal Warforge Species Details

Living Steel

Abyssal warforged, like their former, are formed from a blend of organic and inorganic materials. Root-like metal cords infused with alchemical fluids serve as their muscles, wrapped around a framework of steel, or other metals. Armored plates form a protective outer shell and reinforce joints. Abyssal warforged share a common facial design, with a hinged jaw and crystal eyes embedded beneath a reinforced brow ridge. Beyond these common elements of abyssal warforged design, each abyssal warforge was built with slightly altering parts and or design based on the purpose they were intended for.

Although they were manufactured, abyssal warforged are still living humanoids like normal warforged. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to abyssal warforged that they do to other humanoids.

Abyssal warforged Personality

The abyssal warforged were built after the normal warforge fought wars for many centuries. Their exact purpose is mildly shrouded in secrecy, abyssal warforged were clearly built to be the ultimate war machine, to surpass their original counterparts. Like warforged, The Treaty of Thronehold gave them freedom, but many were lost or became MIA from battles as it almost seemed they went into the most dangerous suicidal missions to end the wars their counterparts were built to start.

The typical abyssal warforged shows little emotion. Many embraced a concrete purpose — such as protecting allies, completing a contract, or exploring a land — and embrace this task as they once did war. However, some may find themselves expressing deep emotion towards others living beings and exploring many aspects of social interactions. Most abyssal warforged have no interest in religion but a select few were created to serve it in a manner, but some embrace faith and mysticism, seeking higher purpose and deeper meaning.

The typical abyssal warforged has a sexless body shape. Some ignore the concept of gender entirely, while others adopt a gender identity, some a very few are even made slightly different.

The more an abyssal warforged develops its individuality, the more likely it is to modify its body, seeking out an artificer to customize the look of its face, limbs, and plating.
