Homebrew Children of the forest Species Details
They were a people of the Dawn Age, the very first, before kings and kingdoms. In those days there were no castles or holdfasts. No city nor village was to be found between the North and the sea of Dorne. Long before the age of men, the children of the forest dwelt in the lands we now call the Seven Kingdoms. The Children are smaller than regular humans and have a nut-brown skin, dappled like a deer with pale spots. They have large ears that can hear things no man could hear. They usually have large eyes. Great golden cat's eyes that can see down passages veiled in darkness. They have vertical slit-like pupils. Some have Green eyes, these have the gift of greensight and are known as greenseers, due to their ability to foretell the future. Their hands have only got three fingers and a thumb, with sharp black claws instead of nails. The Children are slight, quick and graceful. They are the keepers of the sacred groves, the weirwoods. Magical trees with faces carved into them. They follow the old faith or the old gods. Their main goddess is the Mother tree. Mother of all natural life on earth.

Photosynthesis
The Children are creatures of the sun and the moon. Through their plantlike anatomy, children can harness energy from the sun to sustain themselves and light from the moon to fulfill their magical prowess. In this way they need less sleep and sustenance than a human. Instead, they meditate deeply, falling in a dreamlike state, for 4 hours a day. In this state of trance they connect with the natural world around them. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
