Homebrew Death Touched Species Details

A death touched can be of any race but benefit of only a few of their racial traits, (movement, size, age and languages.) 

Death touched are strange and rare creatures, often treated with much caution or fear by those unfamiliar with them. they adopt a very tiefling esque defense against discrimination in the form of a charismatic mask either overdoing a friendly persona to offset their looks, or using their appearance to their advantage striking an intimidating presence.

As they are so close to the nature of death they can find themselves easily shifting between the physical and astral planes, death touched elves for example do not risk meditation for fear of accidentally "shifting."

The appearance of a death touched is usually quite striking, their skin is always pale muted tone when compared to others of their race and can even be translucent in places, they can often seem to be gaunt or sickly despite being in perfect health and their eyes have a ghostly glow that matches their natural eye colour, faint in daylight but much more prominent at night.

Death Touched Traits

Your death touched character has the following racial traits

Ability score increase

Your wisdom score increases by 1, your charisma score increases by 2.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Eyes of the void

The death touched's connection to the void allows them to see and communicate with spirits, they also find it easier to see through magic meant to deceive the eye.

You are able to cast see invisibility at will and and have advantage on checks to see through illusions.

Spirit walker

You constantly ride the line between life and death, and are able to travel between worlds on a whim.

once a day you can use the astral projection spell to travel to the astral plane, however the death touched is unable to take anyone else with them.

Necrotic Resistance

Your closeness with death makes you resistant to it's pull, you have necrotic resistance.
