Homebrew Vormar Species Details

In the few places still hidden to most races of  this world dwell the  Vormar, an ancient people who originate from the world between worlds : the Legendarium. Before they were scattered across many realms by the cataclysm that was the result of the final destruction of the Dark Lord himself, the Vormar were one of the many old and powerful races who constantly fought great wars unlike any seen on the mortal plane. The objective of these wars often varied however the incredible power of the Vormar meant they controlled the entire of the Invermis Elmerath a great floating  mountain range of steep obsidian rock in which the Vormar built great holds and cities. After driving from their realm hordes of the Dark Lord's servants they sent forces to aid the last great war that rent the fabric of the Legendarium. 

White fire, Black Lightning

One of the reasons the Vormar posses such martial might is because even civilians are born with a special magic power. When they use this energy one of their wings burns with white fire whilst the other crackles with black lightning. The Vormar can use this energy to cast powerful magical attacks. This power is thought to originate from their greatest city the Vormith Dagorak an the mountain it resides on. A mighty peak of black and white obsidian. 

Aerial Combat

Nowhere do the the the Vormar fight better than in the sky. They are so skilled that their elite soldiers can form a phalanx even while flying. Despite this the Vormir are well accustomed to life on foot as they live on and under the ground.

A Lost People

The Vormar in this world are scattered and rare but do not fear adventure, often travelling far from their 'hidden houses' and places of refuge. They along with many other powerful races that were torn from their homes in the breaking of reality seek to one-day return to the Legendarium as it has been almost 10,000 years since a single Vormar has seen their true home.

 

 

Vormar Traits

As a Vormar, you have certain traits in common with your people. Being able to fly at high speed starting at 1st level is exceptionally effective in certain circumstances and exceedingly dangerous in others.

Vormar can amas all of their energy in their wings to unleash a devastating attack however they fall unconscious afterwards.

White Fire, Black Lightning

The Vormar can focus their energy into magical fire and lightning and use it in battle to attack enemies or increase the power of their weapons.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 1, and your Strength score increases by 2.

Age

Vormar reach maturity by age 20.  Vormar can live for hundreds or thousands of years, lifespan varies with the individual.

Alignment

Most Vormar are good and rarely choose sides when it comes to law and chaos. Leaders and warriors might be lawful, while explorers and adventurers might tend toward chaotic.

Size

Vormar are about 6.5 feet tall. They  weigh between 130 and 190 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Flight

Flying speed 50 ft. (while not wearing heavy armor.) Flying speed 30 ft. (while wearing heavy armor.)

Energy Claws

You gather energy around your hands and form it into claws, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 2d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

You can speak, read, and write Common, Aarakocra, and Auran.
