Homebrew wyvernborn Species Details
Distant Dragon Kin
Wyvernborn, very much like their Dragonborn cousins, stand erect in humanoid form, though their hunched form makes them look almost quadrupedal. Their small, fine scales are crystalline in colour and range from a bright and reflective white to smooth and cloudy black.Colours range widely but the more lighter colours tend to have a reflective luster to them like small mirrors and the one with more darkened colours have a less reflective but still lustrous sheen to their scales. They are tall and strongly built, often standing over 6 feet tall and weighing upwards from 260 pounds. Their hands and feet are strong, talonlike claws with two fingers and a thumb on each hand, their arms are covered by a thin layer of membrane that they use to fly with.
Self-Sufficient Kin
To the Wyvernborn, the clan is not as important as the self. To a Wyvern the self matters more then the collective and usually wander alone through the world. Not much of the parental type Wyvernborn merely care for their young until reached maturity, After which they are pushed out of the nest to fend for themselves. Most Wyvernborn are nomadic and have several children throughout their lifetime with several different partners, it is unusual though not impossible for a Wyvernborn to be tied down to a single partner or even a whole family but those who chose to always wonder what their life could be like outside of their duties.
A continual drive for self-discovery reflects the solitude of the race as a whole. Wyvernborn value individualism over the pursuit of a generalized perfection. They have no regrets, believe every action they've taken is was in the pursuit of one's own happiness. Overall contentment is the goal of a life for every Wyvernborn even if said fulfillment is merely momentary.
Though all Wyvernborn strive to achieve long lasting happiness, they don't realize how their actions may be keeping them from it. With their loner and short sighted mentality of contentment many still struggle in finding the courage to ask for help or create ties with other, in fear that they'll be perceived as lesser or weak for doing so.
