Homebrew Custom Lineage (Free) Species Details

As an alternative to picking one of the game’s various race options for your character at first level (or whenever your DM allows you to create a new character during the campaign), you can instead use the following traits to represent your character’s lineage and origins. This will give you full control over how the unique lineage of your character have turned them into the adventurer they are or will soon become.

Custom Lineage (Free) Traits

Your character gains the following traits:

Creature Type

You are a humanoid. Your appearance and your resemblance to any of your previous ancestors can be determined by you and your DM.

Size

You are Small or Medium (your choice).

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Ability Score Increase

One ability score of your choice increases by 2.

Feat

You gain one feat of your choice. You must still meet the ability score prerequisites of that feat.

Variable Trait

You gain either darkvision with a range of 60 feet or proficiency in one skill of your choice.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that is suitable to your character.
