Homebrew Awakened Bear Species Details
A common black bear, given the blessing(or curse) of sentence by a powerful magic user. No longer satisfied with the day to day doldrums of life in the woods, you set off into civilization in search of adventure.
Awakened Bear Traits
The Awakened Bear has the following traits:Keen Smell
The bear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell
Ability Score Increase
Increase your Constitution Score by +2 and your Strength Score by +1
Ursine Fortitude
You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. Additionally, you are proficient in the Athletics skill.
Climbing speed
You have a climbing speed of 20 feet
Natural Weapons
Your claws and teeth are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier(claws) or crushing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier(teeth), instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Speak with Small Beasts
Through sound and gestures, you may communicate simple ideas with Small or smaller beasts
Languages
You can speak Common and one other language of your choice.
