Homebrew Cameo Species Details

The moment I truly realized what I had created, I could not help but laugh. True perfection was finally in front of me, and it was horrifying. To be a Cameo is to be separate from the Source, to give up all anyone has ever striven for. This was, at first, a blessing. I was free from the whole world it felt, above both the wars of ordinary men and the immature scuffles of the Gods themselves, but this had come at a price. My wife and children. It truly pains me that I cannot feel even a granule of remorse for what I have done, as this body operates on a soul no longer. The Gods have punished my arrogance with true immortality, a complete inability to die. I write this on my deathbed, having lost my ability to move eons ago, with only the sound of the tides to keep me sane. To all those immaturely seeking similar power, I hope this serves as a sign of caution, as your friends are worth much more than any dusty old amulet.

Nine Lives

Starts with nine life slots. When you die you can skip death saves and instead choose to consume a slots. It costs 2 life slots to skip death saves and get up with one hit point and can then choose to consume life slots to heal 1d4 per slot. This ability can be used once every short rest. If you die while this ability is on cooldown you instantly die, skipping death saves. You regain 1d4 slots after a long rest.

Slow Metabolism

Cameo are permanently satiated but cannot spend hit die during short rests. 

Cat's Coat

Gain cold resistance.

Empty Husk

Cameo cannot use spells under any circumstances.

Cat's Always Land On Their Feet

Does not become prone or take damage after falling.
