Homebrew Cephalid Species Details

Cephalids are humanoid octopus-like race that typically are evil aligned and always seem to be scheming to acquire new positions in power, status, or plotting the demise of another or wronged them.

Once servants of the merfolk the race known as Cephalids rose from their station through cunning, strategy, and might. Through their service to their previous masters the squid like people were forced to adapt to accommodate their tasks or research.

The Cephalid race enjoys practicing their own sense of cruelty on others, most notable examples are Sea Elves, Triton, Humans, and other various species that claim the sea as their home. Though they will actively avoid any possibility to encounter an aboleth, as Cephalids enjoy their recently acquired freedom.

The current day Cephalids can been seen on dry land though they need to regularly spend at least one to four hours submerged under water to maintain their unnatural ability to slink into places where others can not.
