Homebrew Demigob Species Details
Not From Around Here
Demigobs are a race of beings that could almost pass for Goblynn in certain lights. Their skin can be similar shades of light green, they stand at similar heights of 3-4.5 feet. However, this is where the similarities end. Demigobs have skin that can range from shades of light green to a vibrant blue, all the way to a hue of greyish-white. They do not possess hair, in its place they have bristles similar to the ones found on sea life (e.g. sea cucumbers, sea sponges). On rare occasions, a Demigob may possess tendrils atop their head that seem to move independently of their thoughts. They have hooked noses that extend about an inch long. The older a Demigob is, the more the nose hooks around, the oldest of the species may have a spiral structure on the end of their nose because of this. Their ears are long and pointy, growing out from their heads as one grows older. Surprisingly, they possess four ear holes, two on each side. Their mouths are filled with one row of blunt, relatively 'normal'-looking teeth, but they possess a secondary, retractable row of eight incredibly pointy fangs. They are omnivorous, and appear to be able to digest wood matter.
Demigobs usually speak in a very whimsical manner that can be perceived as childish or humorous, often incorporating hand gestures and dances into their speech. This is theorised to be because of the lack of the ability to create much variation in their voices due to the way their vocal chords are formed. Their hands and feethave starfish-like suckers over the entire surface of their palms and soles.
Elusive, Yet Extroverted
Demigobs solely inhabit a pit near an exceptionally dangerous part of the Deepforest, known as The Pit of Despair. Though hazardous to enter, the interior is a relative paradise. It is home to many plant and animal species that are endemic to that area. The soil and surrounding rock there has an oddly familiar, white, rough quality to it similar to a certain celestial body. As the sole producers of the miracle material, cardboard, they have amassed a veritable treasure trove within the Pit. Traders will venture into the deepforest, toss a pouch of gold into the pit, and in return will receive a sheet of cardboard thrown directly into their face from within the darkness of the Pit. Goblynn find them to be an insult to their species and will actively go out of their way to cut down any that they see alone.
The Demigobs are ruled by a 'Gob'Lin King', though rumour has it that he has recently left The Pit of Despair to venture out into the world to find purpose, and perhaps seek greater power to protect his people. Most people think this is a stupid rumour, and those that have spread said rumour have mysteriously turned into corpses overnight.
