On the corners and in the shop windows of well-to-do cities, advertising the latest plays and the hottest garb, are the Cardboard Cutouts. These 2D facsimiles of real people are often overlooked by their flesh and blood counterparts. But in their strangest dreams, out of the corners of their eyes, in the exaggerated stories of children around the campfire — you might swear they were alive.
