Homebrew Arthropodals Species Details

Arthropodals are a proud race of insect-like humanoids that live in all kinds of areas but preferably underground or in the mountains. Arthropodals are very envious and sometimes even aggressive people. They refuse to interact with sentient creatures that they deem weak or unworthy, like Kobolds, Humans or Lizardfolk. Obviously, not all Arthropodals are like this but most are too prideful, which often leads to their detriment.

Anthropodals usually resemble all kinds of different Insects, however, most have different ancestries than they look.

Arthropodals Traits

As an Arthropodal you gain racial benefits originating from your heritage and physical form.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity increases by 2 and your strength by 1.

Age

Arthropodals reach adulthood in their 70s and reach an age of 250 years.

Size

Arthropodals' size range from 4ft. to 7 ft. Your size is medium or small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 ft. and your base climbing speed is 15 ft.

Languages

You know common and one language of your choice.

Arthropodal Ancestry

Choose one of the Following ancestries:

Ant Ancestry: When calculating carrying capacity you count as one creature size larger.

Ironclad Ancestry: You gain a +1 to AC.

Mantis Ancestry: You gain an unarmed claw attack, dealing 1d8+2 slashing damage.

Rhino Beetle Ancestry: You gain a Charge Attack when moving at least 10 ft. in a straight line you may pass through enemy spaces and deal 1d6+2 bludgeoning damage to up to 2 creatures as a bonus action.
