Dengu Traits

As a Dengu you gain the following racial traits

Natural Armor

When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 11 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Tuck and Roll

As an action, you can curl up into a ball and move up to double your movement speed. If you collide with another creature during this they take 2d6 + your Strength modifier and must make a DC 13 Strength check or be knocked prone. After you use this ability you can not move again until your next turn.

Claws

  • Claws. Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Dark Vision

Thanks to spending most of your time living in burrows, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Survival Instinct

Your time living in burrows has made you especially adept underground. You can add your proficiency bonus when making survival checks to track creatures underground, if you are already proficient then you can double your proficiency bonus.
