Homebrew Spacefolk Species Details
Spacefolk, also known as Galactalla, are beings descended from the stars. When a star dies it often creates a supernova explosion, but in some rare occurrences, for an unknown reason, instead of exploding, the dying star forms a galactalla.
Spacefolk tend to float around in space, traveling from star to star, often claiming a certain one as their home. In the galaxy – their homeland, spacefolk can live for millions, even billions of years, but due to their long lifespan, they will often run into a dying star in their lifetime, as it explodes, it will push spacefolk away from it, causing them to fall to the material plane
Many from other races call them celestial beings, seeing as they came from up above, though this is not true, and spacefolk can't be categorized in such ways. Because of how some others see spacefolk, the other races will occasionally praise spacefolk
Breathtakingly Beautiful
Spacefolk have been graced with beauty, many races see spacefolk as beautiful creatures, seeing them as beautiful as the stars in the sky. Spacefolk are slightly taller than humans, ranging from 6 to 8 feet tall. Spacefolk are slender humanoids and weigh only 100 to 150 pounds. Most spacefolk have similar heights regardless of gender, but females tend to be the slightly taller. They have sharp features, making them look more mature, even from a younger age despite not maturing until 100 years old.
A spacefolk's skin is normally shades of blue and purple, while it could be shades of gray, white, or black. Their eyes seem to look like they hold the whole galaxy in them, with colors like blue, purple, dark pink, and black, and white. Spacefolk have no facial or body hair, but their hair colors can be black, blue, or purple, and most spacefolk have natural white highlights in their hair. A spacefolk's hair is normally straight, but occasionally one will have slightly wavy hair. Spacefolk don't like to wear clothing that will distract from their natural beauty but will wear a bit of jewelry in certain situations.
On a few spacefolk, are white dots resembling stars and constellations as a way of camouflage, about 1 in 10 spacefolk have this. Having these doesn't mean anything medically, they are purely a cosmetic trait.
Reminders Of Home
Spacefolk can't resist something sparkly if they see it, it normally reminds them of the glittery looking atmosphere the stars created around them in space before they crashed onto the material plane. As they get older though, they get better at resisting this urge, especially if they've been away from space a long time, but something that sparkles, glitters, or gleams may still catch a spacefolk's eye.
Careful yet Cunning
Spacefolk believe that 500 years of living isn't nearly enough time, especially compared to the billions they could have survived, so most Spacefolk aren't always thrilled to do dangerous activities due to fear that they may live for even less than the little time they were given.
Most spacefolk tend to back away from fighting people head on, utilizing their beauty and dexterity.
Going Out with a Bang
Spacefolk were created from a dying star that would have exploded if not for the spacefolk, that explosion is bottled up deep inside them. When a spacefolk dies, an explosion comes from their dead body, thrusting anyone within 5 feet of the corpse 5 feet backwards, if they collide with an obstruction, they take falling damage equal to the distance they were thrown past said obstruction. (This explosion is similar to the explosion spell, but not exactly the same.) The explosion is near silent and can only be heard by someone within 5 feet of the corpse.
Spacefolk Names
When spacefolk are born, they have matured enough minds to give themselves a name. They like to have long, elegant, names, often relating to the stars. Spacefolk do not gendered names. Since spacefolk don't have families, they don't use surnames. Even if spacefolk marry someone with a surname, they often won't take it because it seems strange and unnatural.
