Homebrew Catboy Species Details
I saw a catboy once, at a cafe in the city. He was one of the waitstaff. Though he poured tea and served drinks, he was dressed in a short black and white maid's dress, with a ruffled satin bonnet on his head. Were it not for the ears and tail, I might have mistaken him for a human.
Perhaps descended offspring of human and tabaxi, or created in the image of the divine, catboys are mostly human-looking, aside from their noticeably feline whiskers, cat ears, and tail. They may only partially or entirely be covered in fur. They can often be found simping for some e-girl or perhaps being cute uwu smol beans. They are sociable and kind, generally looking for friendship and guidance or to lend a helping paw. Despite being called cat "boys," they can be of any age and gender.
Sociable Explorers
Catboys can be found anywhere in the world, though occasionally a few will gather in small groups, they often spread far and wide across the realms. While most are human, there have been legends of catboys emerging within any number of other races.
Some individuals go through rites to achieve catboy status, though the details of such practices are lost to all except those who have successfully attained the transformation. These are secrets catboys do not divulge to outsiders, for fear of incels devaluing the integrity of their creed. Catboys are generally nice, though are known to be adorably mischievous at times. The goal of the catboy is to provide fanservice to those around who have shown their hearts to be true.
Curious Wanderers
As their feline nature would suggest, catboys are generally cunning and clever. While many use their skills and charm to excel in service positions, some apply their cat-like reflexes to more hands-on pursuits, working as spies and bodyguards.
Others turn to less scrupulous means, becoming cat burglars and stealing whatever strikes the moment's fancy while doing that puss-in-boots charm thing to avoid any repercussions for their actions. Often focused on the short term, catboys are generally looking to have a good time for them and their friends.
Catboys generally turn their attention toward fun and flirty means of living, and while not all are concerned with accruing large sums of wealth, many pursue a life of leisure and comfort.
Devoted Allies
Curiosity sends many catboys wandering far and wide, though many do not turn toward adventuring. Catboys who seek a safer path to satisfy their curiosity often settle into a genteel life alongside some aristocrat or catering to the whims of the members of high society.
Settling in cafes or sprawling across a chaise lounge in an upscale keep, catboys make themselves comfortable in the finest fashion. They often exchange stories and tales with those around them and make whatever home in which they are currently taking up residence a hospitable one.
Though respectable beings, they will not tolerate kindly those who seek ill will on them or their friends and will respond severely to protect their loved ones. Many organize with friends, catboy and otherwise, through the use of discord servers.
That Paw Thing
They do that paw thing where they make a cute face and put their hand up, you know, like "nyah :3c"
