Homebrew Blobby Species Details

A pink and yellow façade hides many secrets - the depths of the Blobby culture are not known to many outside of their race. Blobbies were created in the mountains of Ak’hrune, where an imprisoned Life deity Globa, shaped clay into form, hoping her children would experience the freedom she could not. However their poorly constructed form left them stranded in the temperate blessed meadow of their creation for many thousands of years, protected by unassailable mountains which could only be surmounted by passing through unbearable temperatures. The Blobbies found freedom however, when Globa’s admirer, Bebyan, collapsed one of the mountains, turning it to gold and rubies and setting them free. Since then Blobbies have always experienced fear and awe from other races who know of their history, and mocking from those who don’t. Their wealthy background tends to pay for the respect they don’t always receive due to their huge unwieldy bodies.

 

While secretive of their own history, Blobbies are curious of all new cultures they meet. Globa’s spirit of improvisation and tenacity is strong in them, and they seek new experiences constantly. Their connection with their goddess brings them divine luck when asked for, if Globa can be found.

Unsettling Eyes: The gaze of a Blobby can be unsetting to those who are not familiar with their unusual facade. As a bonus action you can use this trait to deal 1d8 psychic damage to any creature you can see within 80 feet.

The Blobby body is malformed and strange - you have disadvantage on stealth and athletics checks.

Unique body

Unique body: Blobbies are easily affected by temperature, heat can cause Blobbies to shrink and cold can cause them to freeze - this unique body type makes the Blobbies more resilient to Poison damage - and you take half damage.
