Homebrew Tinker-Fey Species Details

Tinker-Fey are the product of a tryst between a Fey creature and a Half-Elf, and thus are half Fey. They find themselves in a precarious position in both societies. Their mortal natures make them less able to cope with the extremes of the Feywild, while their otherworldly power and extended lifespan makes it difficult for them to integrate into mortal societies. They are wary of forming mortal relationships fearing the eventual pain of loss. Being of both worlds and belonging to neither they formed their own. With their mortal curiosity and boost from their Fey insight, Tinker fey are natural inventors and engineers and excellent at creative thinking.

You'll typically find them buried in the enchanted woods in their surprisingly industrialized villages. They are widely looked down upon as scavengers of the Fey world and, are often pack rats, as they hold the belief that nothing is without use and any item can find a new life as a part of one of their elaborate mechanisms. That being said their technology is not only beautiful but undeniably advanced.
