Homebrew Carregade Species Details

Carregades were once humans who decided to inhabit the mountains and other areas with harsh climates. Over time their bodies adapted to their desired homes, granting them natural armor, superior strength, and incredible resistance.

Appearance

Carregades average at a height of 6' 5", have a deep tan to dark brown skin color, and are covered in tough plates made of hardened skin equivalent to large fingernails of sorts. The men possess no kind of hair on their bodies, instead being replaced by smaller scale-like plates making up their eyebrows, resembling facial hair, as well as hair atop the head. Females grow a very coarse and tough hair of the tops of their heads, normally resting in a very frizzled style or occasionally tied up in a bun.

Culture

The people of the mountains carve their homes out of the mountains themselves, making cave-like shelters for them to reside in. Their artisan craft of stone carving is another widely recognized trait of the Carregades, often being employed by nobles and royalty for their masterful masonry. On top of their architectural prowess, the Carregades possess a rich cooking culture utilizing various spices and minerals found in the mountains. They're known for making hearty meals, specializing in flame roasting meat.
