Homebrew Demigod Species Details

Achilles stood atop the corpse of the defeated hydra, what once were 5 grand draconic heads now were just cauterised stumps. He mentally thanked his heritage and the abilities it gave him as they are  what have seen him through his arduous journey to collect the Eye and Hand of Vecna so far. He grimaced in pain as he felt harsh divine light suffuse his body, healing his wounds. Stretching his sore shoulders, the dark handprint branded upon his collarbone caught his eye, yet another reminder of why he was forced out of his home town and shunned whenever he went, all because of Banes` cruel whims. Alas, it seemed the only option for him was to continue to march onward towards the last reported location for the Eye and Hand, where no doubt there was yet another giant monster that wanted to kill him.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     - Me, My Imagination.

Sometimes, though it is a very rare event, a god may meet a member of a mortal race and copulate with them. The resulting being born of this couple is a Demigod, possessing some of the ability of their divine parent, but also the mortality and perspective of the 'normal' parent. Demigods often become either widely renown heroes or the most infamous of villains depending on how they decide to use their deific parentage and are a major source of inspiration for many bardic tales, and the legends that they evolve into.

Divine Heritage

While Demigods take the most after their mortal progenitor, there is always something that marks their godly ancestry, such as supernatural beauty or a feature that should not be present on their species, like wings. They have the same skin tone as their earthly father or mother.

Most Demigods embrace their empyrean features though some hide them as a result of discrimination. In addition, these features are used for Demigods to identify one another, however rare such a meeting would be.

Heavenly Influence

Demigods are most likely to take after their god parent in regards to personality. For example, a child of a war god is more quick to anger and martially inclined, where as the child of a god of knowledge or wisdom will be calmer, more quiet and observant. Apart from this, many cultural traditions and more minor personality traits come from their average half.

One trait that seems universal among Demigods is if they do something, they make sure its done right. They will always give their full effort and attention to the task at hand, which makes it nigh-impossible for them to multitask, but comes in handy when faced with a task such as picking an extremely hard lock or sneaking around. In addition, when pushed to the extreme, this can lead to supernatural feats of willpower and endurance. However, this can leave them vulnerable to tunnel vision as well as being very hesitant to delegate a task to someone else when it is vitally important to success.
