Homebrew Bewinged Species Details
When a young child nurses a wounded swallow back to health, when a hunter harms a quail for the last time, when a flock of eagles flies overhead at a child's birth, or for seemingly no reason at all, a human may catch the attention of the falcon god, and in doing so, be granted the blessing (or curse) of the bewinged. The human's arms become massive, majestic wings, and they grow a feathered tail. This transformation costs the human their hands, but enables their feet to act as dextrously as their hands did. Bewinged are extremely few and far between, and are viewed differently by each community that meets them; sometimes as a gift from the heavens, yet sometimes as a dire omen.
