Homebrew Baumgeist Species Details
The mythical race of the Baumgeist, or feral folk as referred to by some, is known by only a very select few people. They passed into legend long ago, after being cast out from their original home - the feywilds - and being forced to find somewhere else to call home. This illusive race never quite feels at home unless in a place of complete nature, untouched by civilisation; to them, this is the only true beauty in the world. The Baumgeist have a very ancient culture, and very little is known about them. It is said that they first manifested from the power of the wild, when civilisation first threatened the untouched beauty of nature, and act as guardians of the forest. Their grace and beauty, it is said, surpass that of even the elves.
Baumgeists were originally from the feywild, but were driven out by new settlers such as the elves, who built cities in their wild homes. They migrated to the beastlands after a great war with the elves. Most people believed they were wiped out by the harsh conditions, and they faded into legend. But they survived. The conditions of the beastlands made them stronger and faster and more in tune with nature. You are one of the last of your kind, devoted to protecting nature and reclaiming your ancestors' homeland.
