Homebrew Bullywug Species Details
Bullywugs are froglike humanoids that live in swampy environments. Their life in the swamp is a brutal one, especially when living underneath the rule of a vain king. The only way for bullywugs to survive is to either murder their rivals, which requires that the deed is not discovered, or raiding travelers to pay tribute in the form of treasure to the king. Not all bullywugs can last in this world, and either are banished when they fail to meet the kings expectations, their crimes are discovered, or if they simply wish for a less terrible life. Regardless of what drove them away, a bullywug adventurer will always hold a little place in its froggy heart for treasure and power.
Bullywug Traits
Your bullywug character has many traits that allowed it to survive in the muggy, dangerous swamp, and now assist you in your endeavors.Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, your Constitution score increases by 1, and your Intelligence score decreases by 1.
Age
Bullywugs are usually treated as adults when they reach 10 years old. They can live up to 50 years, but usually die from the dangers of the swamp before then.
Alignment
Most bullywugs are Neutral Evil, due to their raiding, murderous nature. However, bullywugs that go rogue and leave home for a better life can be different alignments, usually Chaotic Neutral.
Size
Bullywugs stand from 4 to 5 feet tall and weigh around 120 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base speed is 30 feet. You also have a swimming speed of 30 feet.
Amphibious
You can breath air and water.
Speak with Frogs and Toads
You can communicate simple concepts to frogs and toads while speaking in Bullywug.
Swamp Camouflage
Your life as a swampy raider has trained you in stealthy movement. You have proficiency in the Stealth skill. In addition, your mottled, slimy skin lets you blend into your home terrain. You have advantage on Dexterity(Stealth) checks made to hide in swampy terrain.
Standing Leap
Your long jump is up to 20 feet and your high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.
Brutish Bite
You can make an unarmed attack using your bite. This bite deals 1d4 damage plus your Strength modifier bludgeoning damage. You are proficient with your bite.
