Homebrew Wulver Species Details

Wulver hail for the Feywild as benevolent gift givers. A race of wolf-like people that have an inborn need to help those in need by giving them food and increasing their quality of life.

Wolfish Grins

The wolf-like wulver stand a little shorter than the average human. Standing at, on average, five and a half feet tall, the bipedal wulver are covered with thick and soft fur that could be many varieties of colors natural to their wolfen kin. Some resemble the mighty Timber Wolf, while others tend to look like the normal nomadic Grey Wolf. Their hooked legs allow them to move faster than the normal person but leave them unable to wear boots, often donning ankle guards or padded sandals to protect their lower legs. The face of the wolf rest easily upon their head as their friendly grins are usually accompanied by a row of sharp teeth. That said, wulver are omnivores and can eat both meat and plants.

Benevolent Gift Givers

Most wulvers share two traits with one and other. The first trait is a love of fishing. Most wulver can be found near bodies of water with their pole in the drink while they nap nearby, waiting for a bite. Secondly is their love of gift giving. Most wulver don't keep what they catch and instead seek out feelings of despair and loneliness to give their food to the poor souls in need of a decent gift. Not all wulver share these traits, however. Some tend to more extremes on the other side of the spectrum and are servants of greed. Instead of using their natural abilities to give, they instead take from those in abundance. They find those who have too much and take for themselves so they can rest longer without worrying about survival.

 Fey Origins

Wulver have origins from the Feywild which becomes apparent in their chaotic nature. Akin to elves and other Sylvan creatures and imbued with the chaotic energies of their home realm they share in some fey-like abilities. Resistant to sleeping magic and effects that can control their opinions, wulver care for their personal freedoms. That said, they don't have any formal communities in their wild homeland, not traveling in packs or forming villages, the Wulver instead prefers to be alone except with a mate or small family.
