Homebrew Yordle Species Details

Small and Colorful

The diminutive Yordles survive in a world full of larger creatures through their wit preferring to avoid confrontation, however, it should be said they have nothing against defending themselves or friends and can be tenacious fighters. Most Yordles found are of the Stout variety, less common are the Fleetfoots and rarer yet are the Pureblood Yordles of which few remaining families still exist.

A Yordles skin ranges from dark purple to pale blue depending on the subrace, and their hair and eyes can be any sort of color. They like to wear simple, comfortable, and practical clothes, favoring bright colors.

Craft and magic 

Yordles have a knack for crafting all kinds of magical devices and trinkets, from weapons to armor to vehicles and farming implements, they can make any sort of magical device to suit whatever needs they may have given time.  

Good-hearted

Yordels at their core are kind and playful creatures with very little intention to harm anyone, that's not to say they are against defending themselves if pressured to. Yordles are generally of good alignments.

Exploring Opportunities

Yordles usually set out on the adventurer’s path to defend their communities, support their friends, or explore a wide and wonder-filled world. For them, adventuring is less a career than an opportunity or sometimes a necessity.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2 for all Yordles.

Age

A Yordle reaches adulthood at the age of 20 and generally lives between 300 and 500 years depending on their subrace, however Purebloods are ageless.

Alignment

Most Yordles are lawful good. As a rule, they are good-hearted and kind and yet mischievous and can cause trouble if they get to exited. They are also very orderly despite their almost careless demeanor, keeping their work spaces clean and ready for any sort of project they have in mind, they have even been known to clean and organize  homes or establishments that don't belong to them, often being called "House Gremlins" whenever someone finds them straightening up their home. They are also found of bright colors.

Size

Your size is small for all Yordles aside from Fleetfoot who can be tiny should the player choose.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Crafts and magic

Yordles are known for their skill working with magical items, as a Yordle a player has advantage on any WIS or INT checks in regards to magical devices and have advantage on any rolls meant to craft an item.

Yordle Nimbleness

You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Yordle. The Yordle language is secret and only those they trust may be taught how to speak and write it. Depending on the individual a Yordle can write alot in regards to contraptions and discoveries, those who dont write alot can be very talkative and friendly, they all have very active minds itching to do something.

Innate Magic

Yordles are very magical creatures, as such a young Yordle will develop a magical ability early in their life that they may ignore any VS component requirements. Depending on the subrace a player may gain a cantrip and possibly a spell from their subraces cantrip and spell list.

Hyper yet hardy

Yordles are hardy when it comes to things they eat or drink, they have resistance to poison and are immune to the effects of alcohol. However they are very sensitive to anything like sugar of caffeine, if a Yordle eats or drinks anything with either of these they must make a DC15 CON saving throw to resist the effects, on a failed save the Yordle will lose 2 INT and WIS from their ability modifiers for 8 hours and will begin randomly causing mischief, this mischief cannot directly cause damage to people but they can be harmed as a result.  

Inherent Glamour

You know the spell Disguise self, and can cast it once per long rest as a concentration spell, and can hold it indefinitely so long as you can maintain concentration.
