Homebrew Cornelial Species Details

“Do you notice the way people look at you child? Most probably you'll be the only one of your kind they'll see in their intire life.”

She spoke to you. Her face in a mix of dazzle and disbelief.

"What are you?” An other man asked. “Are you an angel or are you a demon?”

“He is unique!” she intervened. “No angel or demon, but maybe a bit of both.”

The wise woman then turned to the kid, “You know, you better hide those wings and horns.” The boy looked to her trying to figure out what she ment by that, and she continued “In this world people will always be puzzled about your existance. Some may dispise you and some may adore you, but follow my advice kid, beware of the curious.”

To be greeted with unfamiliar looks and whispers, to have no home to come back to, to be hunted be some and adored by others: this is the lot of the cornelial. Cornelials usually doesn't know their parents or family. Their appearance is unlike any other creature alone, they struggle to find their way into the word, and most die at a really young age.

Mixed Celestial and Infernal Bloodline

Cornelials are often orphans, given that their mothers die after given birth to them. They are directly derived from aasimars and tieflings, hence, they still look human. However, their mixed heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration, but also include various shades of gray and purple. Their hair's colour can be many, wading from possible colours from humans, aasimars or tieflings. They possess white-feathered wings on their backs. Most Cornelials have a single pair of wings, though some may have have up to four pairs. Cornelials have large horns that take any of a variety of colours and shapes: some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a Bovinae’s, and some spiral upward like an antelopes’ horns. They have thick tails, four to five feet long, which lash or coil around their legs when they get upset or nervous.

Pure and naive, but with a sense of not belonging

Cornelials have a pure nature. Their bloodline affects their personality, so that most of them tend to be good.
Most of them are kind and giving, to a point they frequently do not realize when ill intended people try to deceive them.

Even though they have a kind nature, most of them feel like they don't belong anywhere, given that they are often treated as something completely strange or that should not exist.

Cornelial Names

Cornelial aren't often given names, but the ones that receive them usually have a union of Celestial and Infernal language's words, separated by an apostrophe, that reflect their mixed heritage. Since most cornelials are orphans, they are named by other races and follow the same naming conventions as this race's native culture .

A VERY RARE SIGHT

Most people doesn't know and haven't seen anything about cornelials. Their low survival rate at bith and extremely unconventional way of being conceived, makes them extremely rare. Their mixed celestial and infernal heritage exposed in their bodeis makes people uncertain about how to react.
