Homebrew Cucukin Species Details
NATURES MESSANGERS
Created from the Mother Vine, these juice filled vessels are made for the purpose of seeing the world and telling stories. They come into the world content with life and only wish to use it to find out new things and make new friends. They are very easy going and do not often wish to cause conflict. They travel the world, sometimes alone, sometimes in groups called 'gardens' to take notes and paintings on things going around in the world before reporting it back to the mother vine. You could say they are as cool as a cucumber.
The Mother Vine is a spirit of nature housed within a cocoon of vines and roots, as a result, it can not see or hear anything outside of its shell. The Mother Vine creates each Cucukin with a personality similar to its own, however, they often develop their own personalities after some time.
A WHOLE BASKET OF FRUIT
Cucukin come in many different shapes and sizes depending on where they grow and what they grow as. For instance while the most common types of Cucukin resemble watermelon and cucumbers, many can resemble cantaloupe, honeydew, horned melon, or wax guard. In colder regions, the cucukin often come out as guards like squash and pumpkins. If they grow near an ocean, it is not uncommon for them to grow as pickles, this variety often is more aggressive.
A CULTURE OF IMITATION
Cucukin love to imitate the cultures and practices they see on their adventures, even if they do not understand them. They have mock weddings, put on plays which have no plot, and even fight mock wars! Eventually these imitations begin to stick and grow into a fully formed society based on a melting pot of things taken from cultures around their respective Mother Vine. If there is no civilization to imitate near by, the Cucukin will often imitate various animals around.
