Homebrew Demi-Fiend Species Details

With concentrated negative energy from the lower planes coursing through their veins, it is no wonder Demi-fiends are destined for infamy. At birth their soul, mind, and body are infused with the very same unholy essence all fiends are made of to create a new type of fiend called a Demi-Fiend. This can sometimes be done through a very rigorous and long ritual that involves a mortal giving birth in one of the lower planes. Demi-Fiends are mostly unknown to those who dwell in the material plane for demi-fiends almost exclusively live in the lower planes, though can sometimes be found inhabiting the inner planes.

Suspicious features

Demi-fiends are always born with distinct features which are unnatural for their race. Almost always manifesting in the facial area such as having a fluorescent-colored sclera with pitch black pupil and eyes. Demi-fiends residing in the material plane will usually hide these unnatural features in an attempt to blend in with other beings of the same race.

Demi-Fiend Traits

Your Demi Fiend has certain traits granted from their extra-planar nature.

Speed

your base walking speed is 30ft. 

Super natural movement

You are able to defy the laws of gravity and levitate in any direction with a flying speed of 30ft. To use this movement speed you must be carrying weight beyond (9 x cha)lbs and not be wearing heavy or medium armor. You are still susceptible to being knocked prone and taking fall damage. You must be conscious to continue levitating. 

Language

You can speak common and use telepathy within 30 feet of someone whose presence you are aware of. (note: others can not communicate with you the same way and you cannot talk to something who does not understand the language which your speaking. But you can attempt to communicate through sending images into their mind.)

Ability score increase

You increase 2 different stats by one ability score point.

Hellish Endurance

Your fiendish blood allows you to push yourself past your physical limits. When you are reduced to 0 hitpoints but not killed outright, you can instead drop to 1 hitpoint. You cannot use this feature again until a long rest. 

Age

When a Demi-fiend matures at around 18-20 years old their aging process suddenly slows to a crawl sometimes living up to 1,000 years.
