Homebrew Aabsamee Species Details

Aabsamee are a beautiful and social people whom enjoy time with different creatures.

They live in enourmous caves, coming up to socialize or hunt and forage.

Beautiful and Agile

Aabsamee are a incredibly beautiful race, with graceful black markings on pale white skin. Their ears are pointy like elves, and their hair's color is usually similar to gray. Their clothes are not complex at all, complimenting the Aabsamee's simple beauty. In addition to beauty, Aabsamee have built up primal agility over the years that all Aabsamee are born with. Because of this, you might see a Aabsamee toddler dodging an arrow. Because of this agility, Aabsamee are expert hunters, quietly stalking their prey before unleashing a volley of arrows or stabbing with melee weapons.

An Immortal Perspective

Because they seem to live forever, Aabsamee get the perspective on life that immortals get. They believe that there is never any need to rush, for you have hundreds of years left in your life. Similar to elves, Aabsamee take their lives slowly and do not understand why humans are always running about, rushing their life along. Aabsamee enjoy the simple pleasures of cave life until about the age 300, when they decide to take on a traditional Aabsamee career such as crafting armor, foraging, hunting, and adventuring.

Hidden Cave Cities

Aabsamee, for the purpose of security, conceal their holes excellently. While they are fairly social creatures, they are still quite cautious when it comes to their caves. They do come up to visit, barter with, or make deals with other species. Also, their entire food source is built off of foraging and hunting, for which they send their very best gatherers, trackers, and hunters out to do. Aabsamee are especially good friends of the wood elves, or so they like to think. They do not forge weapons of iron and ore, so they go to nearby villages to purchase such equipment.

Cave dwellers

Ever since Aabsamee evolved, they have lived in giant, approximately 200ft by 400ft, caves surrounded by forest. Although they live for over a thousand years, Aabsamee dislike the thought of ever having to leave what they know and enjoy to explore for other places to live. However, those who become adventurers are always fine with exploring dungeons and such. This is why the Aabsamee have never changed the native home and have been perfectly comfortable in their caves over the millennia.

Kind Spirited

Athough they do think highly of themselves, Aabsamee are not ones to insult, and generally see the glass half full in people.

Dwarves. “Dwarves are hardy, clumsy oafs. They are not very nice or polite but are the most loyal to their word and strong allies to have."

Halflings. “Halflings are the nicest people in the universe, and they are always offering a delicious meal. They could be a bit more wary about the strangers passing by that they admit into their homes."

Humans. “I really don't know how to judge them with their such short lives. But they oddly seem to accomplish quite a lot in their 100 year of life."

Elves. "Only sort of friendly, but they're expert smiths and powerful allies or friends to have at your back. Also, they are quite good at art and building or crafting."

Aabsamee Names

Aabsamee are considered children until they celebrate their maturity party, some time around their two hundred and fiftieth birthday, and before this period they are called by child names.

On reaching adulthood, an Aabsamee selects an adult name for themselves, although those who knew him or her as a youngster might continue to use the child name. Each adult Aabsamee's name is a reflection on themselves, though they will sometimes select a name that parents, grandparents, or ancestors had.  Little distinction exists between male names and female names; the groupings here reflect only general tendencies. In addition, every Aabsamee bears a family name, typically a combination of other Elvish words. The family names are used more for organization and grouping.
