Homebrew Vulkine Species Details

 The Vulkine, like other fey, are notorious tricksters that are known to be involved with courts such as the court of Beguilement, but are mostly wyldfey. Wyldfey hold no alleganacies to any court and mind themselves. The Vulkine are solitary by nature, often hunting and spending most of their time alone. It is rare to find a grouping of Vulkine that are not a family unit. 

Unlike other wyldfey they are more likely to visit the mortal realms and take great pleasure in tricking the people they find. This may come in many forms but commonly it includes impersonating others to cause rifts or mischief, manipulating peoples dreams, or creating illusions to stir madness in others. 

 

Life Span

Vulkine mature at the age of 15 and may live up to 150 years.

Height 

Vulkine are can be a variety of sizes and heights but most are between 4ft and 5ft tall.

Vulkine Magic

You know the minor illusion cantrip.

Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the disguise self spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the phantasmal force spell with this trait. Once you cast disguise self or phantasmal force with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).

You have proficiency in deception.

Knowing Gaze

You have advantage on investigation checks to discern an illusion.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
