Homebrew Chimera Species Details

Chimeras. Each chimera has a soulmate who has the same tattoos as their partner.  These are persons promised by the gods. A chimera is never born without the appropriate soulmate. However, there are chimeras whose soul mates do not live in the same population. They can be born even without the tattoos. Soulmates can also be several, but sex does not matter. In life chimera may decide to forgo the search for their soulmate. Or they may spend their entire life to find their promised other half.

When a Chimera passes they will continue to seek their soulmate. Chimeras will not find peace until they find their second half in the afterlife. They will continue to haunt the planes until they find their soulmate, living or dead. According to legends, if a Chimera finds their soulmate deceased, they will take their life to join them. Chimeras are known to be very loyal. Even to their own detriment.
