Homebrew Walkers 0.1 Species Details

A subspecies of Therianthrope that can turn into the form of a Coyote, and with some strange abilities that accompany their new forms. Most who are born into this race never know their Walker parent, instead they believe that only a handful survive.

 

Walkers 0.1 Traits

It’s hard to make generalizations about walkers, as there are very few today, but your walker character has these traits.

Spirit sight.

You can cast the spell Speak with Dead at level 5, ignoring the need for a corpse to cast this spell. You can cast this time equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest.

Darkvision

 You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

 

Shifting

You can change into the form of a coyote once per short rest. Use the stats of a Wolf as this form.

Keen Senses

Have proficiency in the Perception skill. 

Ability Score Increase

One ability score increases by 2, another by 1

Size

Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Humans typically learn the languages of other peoples they deal with, including obscure dialects. They are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues: Orc curses, Elvish musical expressions, Dwarvish military phrases, and so on.
