Homebrew Auroraborn Species Details

To be greeted with stares and whispers, to be the object of fascination for so many, to see disbelief and wonder in every eye: this is the life of the auroraborn. And to top it all off, the auroraborn know that this is because generations ago they were created by Ehlonna, goddess of nature. Their appearance and their nature are not under their own influence but the result of an Ehlonna's power, for which they and their children and their children’s children will always be regarded for.

Divine Creations

Auroraborn are derived from a humanoid goddess, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look human. However, their divine heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. They have long hair, three to four feet long, which can be worn however they prefer. Their eyes are usually solid colours—blue, green, yellow, purple, etc—with a light shaded sclera and a deep coloured pupil. Their skin tones cover the full spectrum of colour, sometimes including multicolour striations or patterns, and their hair shines with many various colours.

Trusting and Naive

Auroraborn inhabit a small plot of wilderness in The Dark Woods, under the protection of their creator and patron goddess, where they grow up to be hunters, clerics, or warriors. On occasion, they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with respect.

Lacking a homeland, venusti know that they have to make their own way in the world and that they have to be strong to survive. They are quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend, and when an aurouraborn's companions demonstrate that they trust him or her, the auroraborn becomes attached and subsequently would do anything to aid them. Once an auroraborn gives someone loyalty, the only thing that can break that born is the sting of betrayal.

Auroraborn Names

Auroraborn names fall into two broad categories.  Some have names derived from their creators, passed down through generations, that reflect their divine heritage. And some younger Auroraborn, who strive to find a place in the world, adopt a simpler name that signifies their culture. For some, the name is given to them by their parents. For others, it’s a name that they feel represents them well. A common naming tradition is to have vowels on the end of girls names and consonants on the end of boys.
