Homebrew Draenei Species Details

Description:

Draenei tower at around 7–8 feet tall. Their skin tone is generally blue but can range from white, dark violet and red. Their blood is also blue. Draenei possess hooves and a long tail, which tends to be thinner on females and which can be reinforced with plates on males. They can also have horns or forehead plates on their heads. While males have tendrils growing out from their chin and neck, female tendrils are thinner and grow from behind their ears. Light Forged (Divine) Draenei eyes glow yellow. When draenei die, the glow fades away. 

History:

Over 1500 years ago, on the continent of Argus, the brilliant, magically gifted and advanced Draenei race faced unprecedented natural disasters causing wide spread destruction and death. Leaving the once beautiful and bountiful planes of Argus reduced to a inhospitable wasteland dotted with small surviving settlements plagued by volcanic eruptions, ice storms, hurricanes, etc... The surviving Draenei fought over the last scraps of their broken society for over 400 years until from the ashes of their lost world a figure arose Exodar Stormglory. A leader who began to unite fallen Draenei civilisation either through diplomacy or thorough armed confederation. For over 75 years he forged through Argus until during his adventures he discovered the secrets of the Great Ethereum Sky Cities. From this he knew that the only path to survival for the Draenei was to take to the skies in a mass exodus leaving behind their home land to discover new lands and a new life. A total of 16 Sky Cities were created in the initial exodus lifting from the ground under power of the raw Ethereum mines beneath them. In this new age the Sky Cities flourished and all mourned the passing of the Great Exodar. However, in the subsequent 1000 years the cities have evolved differently from each other, it is unknown if they still hold diplomacy, but certainly known that battles have be fought. Only 8 of the original 16 Sky Cities are known to have survived the past 1000 years.   

 

Draenei Traits

Draenei share similar traits to Tieflings but are sigincantly larger

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 1, and your Charisma score increases by 2.

Age

Draenei begin adulthood between 20-35 and can live to be over 150.

Size

Tieflings are about the same size and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your infernal/celestial heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Hellish Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage.

Infernal Legacy

You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the hellish rebuke spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
