Homebrew Yu-Ion Pixien Species Details
"This will be my best work... Finally an intelligent enough tool to help me properly with my work!"
Said the Gnomish Construct Builder as he fooled around with the cords and wires as he put together his masterpiece. He was obsessed with it too, how he poked and prodded the malleable flesh and integrated what you could say was a gnomish version of a computer into the body of a rather tiny dead pixie. Trying it seemed to breathe life back into it so it can become a rather useful tool He would test it first of course, keep it a while before making more to sell.
For months he was trying to get it to move, frustrated at his growing failure. Ah. but just then a finger moved and those pretty little Ashen grey smokey eyes had opened for the first time. He had actually done it! Created a technology by connecting a processing system to something living! A new type of being that had the purpose of service to make his life and other intelligent ones like him to live a little easier when it came to their tinkering obsessions! ~ The nutty old gnome smiled as she rose, barely able to get a hang of how to walk, watched her explore a while before asking her questions, trying to get her to talk.
"My Girl. You...Are a navigational system...As well as a master analyst. But what you are is...My Daughter, My little...Pixie. And your name is... Yui... ~ Do..You like that name?"He asked as she suddenly smiled and half flew jumped into his hand to hug it. Seems she had... But how long will this last?

Tiny and Brilliant
Do not be fooled by this tiny flightless Pixie's general appearance. They dont just look like very tiny humans but exist, live, breath have families and die like them too. The first true AI made in this world by a rather wacky Gnomish Tinker and scientist called Dr.Frank N. Stein. An ex member of the Jodorian Court who was essentially kicked out because most thought he was raving mad for wanting to create a perfect navigational computer like system that was capable of self thought and actions if it deemed a course of action too... Unjustified or endangering of its handler.
What Dr. Stein didn't count on was it developing to the point where it not only gained the ability to express itself like humanoids and to feel, it also learned how to generate a new life, though it didn't work the same, as well as how to live in a, well. much tinier society like ours, No pun intended. Eventually, the multitude of them began to be sparely spread out though out the world, never mooe than 30 in one place unless it was a grand city.
And with them they took their vast gnomish knowledge with them becoming a people of the metal and cog. Giving life though wheel and spring and coinciding with nature on a whole new level. These new fae became, not just navigators, but lore keepers, star gazers, or even Guardian wings, for those who tried to join the guards of the much bigger cities who learned aviation in a way. These little guys are smart. Like a walking encyclopedia of unimaginable amounts of information... For once they learn something, they can not forget... After all, Knowledge might be power for some. But it is their way of life.
Kind and Curious
If you ever meat these little guys, they dont seem to have a mean bone in their body. Though children are still... Susceptible to wanting to play tricks on others. And my can they be just Awful... Watch out or you might get a tinny shock to the toe, cus they might buzz you with very tiny taters that can pack a punch! Despite the children's unruly behavior, all have inquisitive minds, always asking questions, always tinkering, analyzing things.. Of course, this is once they get over the fear of size difference between them and other races and other such things...
Blend into Nature
Now the homes or towns of these flightless pixies are very tiny indeed. Being that of an average size of one is a mere 75 feet across for your average low to medium class town. These hold on average 40-70 citizens However the big cities, A metropolis if you will, can be almost 200 feet in diameter and hold almost 180-250 citizens. though your average tiny town might be no more than 20 feet across and only hold 10-12 citizens in them on average.
These little places are often easy to miss unless you know what your looking for as they rarely deface the area they make into their home but rather build to become apart of its natural beauty.In fact mist dont even realize that most quarries, or areas that can potentially become quarries, have a high chance to be a Yu-Ion Pixie home... Just hiding in plain site. Though rocks aren't the only place they can stay, but in shrubbery, ice, tree bark, hardened sand as a few examples. This is because they are able to easily adapt to climates rather easy if they choose to make a home somewhere else.
Exploring Opportunities
While most dont get out much of their homes, every once in a while, one may leave to go on a quest. Though that doesn't happen these days. Its not as if its frowned upon, but because the pixies dont think that the world "Just cant get any bigger" than that of which they grew up in sadly. This simply means that while brilliant curious little things, they can often be closed off to the realm of what could be when it comes to other places and races.
Just between you and me, i blame the size as the cause for how little of the actual world they tried to discover...
But for those who have normally met an outsider usually left, often never coming back. This is mainly do to being exposed to so many terrifyingly huge things that can also do so much good that their curiosity and hunger for knowledge simply wont let them be the way they were anymore.
On the other hand, those of the GUARD have access to... A flying mechanic via tinkerer's machine that was... slowly perfected to the point where those in the guard can actually temporarily fly on specialized "Pixie" wings that were based off the "All Mother Pixien, Yui. So because of this temporary and timed gift in flight, they have seen so much more of the world than your normal Pixien citizen and that vast knowledge is what allowed Pixien Metropolises to be fashioned as they often look like mini modern day sky scraper type cities mixed With Elven nature weaving.
Yu-Ion Pixien Names
Most female first names end with Ienne, Ia, Ka while male names tend to end in En, On, An, In, or Un . Though they dont always follow this rule. Last names werent so,ething they normally had until much later in history, so they sound... Less like a last name and more like Tittles.

Family Names: Steelsinger, Alloymelder, Copperhide, Garnetgleamer, Jaspertemple, Lapizcaster, Opalhope, Pearlgatherer, Quartsking
This race does not include a subrace. All are the same in general with only "skills" (IE Backgrounds/roles) to define them originally. Those with a rile take on a new "Last name" like Heartsmither, if they are blacksmiths of the Heart Forge in the center of each city. Or how a maker of cloth and armor would be known as a Leatherstripper. Other examples include Stargazer(Star Map maker and navigator of constellations); Nectarstash(For your bartenders and innkeepers in metropolises usually); (Color)Cardinal(Guards- Colors define rank in Guards); or even Blindones(For those that leave home and are believed to have lost their way from the All-Mother Yui.
All Mother Yui- The First Navigation Bio-Energy System
For those who haven't realized yet, This Yui is based off of Yui is from SAO with a slight twist as to how she came about. She is still the first, The maid system with the affinity to "be human" as it was meant to help humanoids. However in this case, she was made with the idea that a "Computer", so to speak, could be wired directly to the Nuero-Energy in the brain and nervous system of a dying creature in order to preserve its life as well as make it become an archive of stored information and possibly other abilities that made it essential to have one on every adventure.
While in this case it started off as a way for a gnome to make money on an ultimate navigation companion, Yui was beginning to think, feel and act on her own. Watching others, collecting so much information that she realized she didn't have a true family, friends, freedom or a home of her own. Essential things she realized needed to... Be happy like her Father and creator.
After so long she finally convinced herself it was time to leave, and set out to create a new life, her own children, and her first home... If anyone knew anything about Pixien, or wanted to know, they can go to the Grand Metropolis, Tokipen Jayo, the first true home of Yui. There they would meet the First Guard. It is also a city that is also almost 3x as big as a normal metropolis, about 500 feet across.
Yu-Ion Pixien Traits
Pixien are normally flightless, and dont work like your monster type pixies entirely. But may share certain traits as the first was made with one. Also flight and flight devices is only available to guards unless you make your own Flyer Device.Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, Intelligence score by 1, and your Charisma score increases by 1.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common, Gnomish, Elvish, Sylvan, and Pixen(add yourself sadly)
Age
Pixien do not age as normal races do, and after reaching maturity do not die except from wound or disease.
Alignment
Most all Pixien are good with the chaotic ideals of freedom in simply having fun and enjoying life being at the forefront of their desires. However they can also lean towards lawful if they find s purpose bigger than themselves.
Size
Pixien are like tiny elves standing barely anywhere between 1-6 inches tall. Your size is Tiny.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 20 feet.
Pixien Cunning
You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.
Nature's Gift
The children of the Feywild have a natural gift for the outside world. You are proficient in the Nature skill.
Pixien Magic
You can shrink objects sized for a Medium or Small creature to suit your size while it is carried by you. While shrunk, an item can be used normally.
Smarter Than Your Average Gnome :P
When you roll a 1 on the d20 for an any intelligence ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you can reroll the die and must use the new roll.
Fey Ancestry
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Darkvision
Living mostly outdoors outside of traditional lighting, you have superior vision in dark or dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
