Homebrew Altmer (High Elf) Species Details

The Altmer, or self-titled Cultured People, are a tall, golden-skinned race, hailing from Summerset Isle. They are also known as High Elves by the denizens of Tamriel. High Elves are generally viewed as being proud or snobbish. Altmer consider themselves to be the most civilized culture of Tamriel; the common tongue of the continent is based on Altmer speech and writing, and most of the Empire's arts, crafts, laws, and sciences are derived from Altmer traditions.

The Altmer are the most strongly gifted in the arcane arts of all the races, and they are very resistant to diseases. However, they are also somewhat vulnerable to magicka, fire, frost, and shock, which makes them very weak against their strongest point - magic. They are among the longest living and most intelligent races of Tamriel, and they often become powerful magic users due to both their magical affinity and the many years they may devote to their studies.

Altmer (High Elf) Traits

Altmer have the following traits.

Age

Altmer can live to 200 or 300 years, though some are known to have lived much longer. High elves typically reach maturity at 30.

Aedric Health.

You have advantage on saving throws against effects that would attempt to paralyze you. In addition, you have advantage on Constitution saving throws against disease.

Altmeri Training.

You have proficiency in the Arcana and History skills.

Extra Cantrip.

You know one cantrip of your choice from the wizard spell list. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is spellcasting ability for this spell (your choice).

Highborn.

When you finish a short rest, if you have spellcasting, you regain an expended spell slot with a level equal to half your level, round down, but no higher than 6th level. Once you use this feature, it can't be used again until you finish a long rest.

Magicka Burn.

Whenever a spell deals cold, fire, or lightning damage to you, you take extra damage from that spell equal to your level.

Languages.

You can speak, read, and write Common and two other languages of your choice.
