Homebrew Abatzi Shual Species Details
Abatzi Shual Traits
Creature Type. You are a monstrosity.
Size. You are medium (7ft to 8 ft tall)
Speed. Your walking speed is 35 feet.
Adaptive HunterYou have proficiency in the Athletics skill, and Stealth. Additionally when you hunt or forage for food you collect twice as much as usual and have advantage on survival checks to hunt or track creatures after observing them for 1 minute. Additionally you identify any vulnerabilities, immunities, or resistances after one minute of observation.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Abatzi.
Gift of Shual. Starting at 3rd level, you cast the haste spell on yourself with this trait without requiring material components. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the invisibility spell on yourself with this trait, without requiring a material component. Once you cast either of these spells with this trait, you can't cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level.*
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spell casting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).
Hunter's Resistance. Starting at 3rd level, after taking a long rest you can grant yourself resistance to either acid or psychic damage.
Wildspace Endurance. You can supernaturally draw on unyielding cosmic evolution to shrug off harm. When you take damage (other than psychic damage), you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Strength modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Knuckle Blades You have claws than you use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 +your strength modifier slashing damage, instead of bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. You can retract or extend the blades from your knuckles as a bonus action taking 3 piercing damage upon extending them. While extended you cannot hold weapons or manipulate objects with your hands.
Abatzi Cunning. You have proficiency with tinkerers tools. Additionally you have advantage on arcana checks to identify magical items.
