Homebrew Awakened Fox Species Details
A fox with the Awaken spell cast upon it. With this magic put into your small body, your paws gain some more mobility, and your intelligence increases, allowing you to think like a humanoid! You also are able to speak Magically!
Creating Your Character
At 1st level, you choose whether your character is a member of the human race or of a fantastical race. If you select a fantastical race such as the fairy or the harengon in this section, follow these additional rules during character creation.
Ability Score Increases
When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy. The “Quick Build” section for your character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You can follow those suggestions or ignore them, but you can’t raise any of your scores above 20.
Languages
Your character can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.

Life Span
The typical life span of a fox is around 6 years old, but due to the awakened magic, you can live from anywhere from 100-300 years old.
Height and Weight
You are a bit larger than the size of an average fox, anywhere from 10 inches tall to 2 feet tall You are very light, less than 30 lbs.
Awakened Fox Traits
As an awakened fox, you have the following racial traits.Creature Type

You are Small.
Speed
Your walking speed is 30 feet. You have a burrowing speed of 5 feet.
Fox Feet
You can use your claws to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Keen Hearing
You have proficiency in the Perception skill. In addition you have advantage on any Perception checks that rely on hearing.
Foxy Footwork
When you fail a Dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to roll a d4 and add it to the save, potentially turning the failure into a success. You can’t use this reaction if you’re prone or your speed is 0.

You know the thaumaturgy cantrip.
Animal Body
Due to your animal body most armor will not fit on you. The only armor that does is armor following the Barding rules, magical armor that fits to your shape, or specially made armor.
