Homebrew Berongga Species Details

"These people.. what are they? We've tried so much on them, but we can't figure out what they are. They fired off an energy beam that did damage around the size of a magic missles spells. Those bone masks they wear seem to vary heavily, one guy had the top half of a lion skull, and another guy had the mouth bones, teeth and cheekbones. But they don't seem to be removable, we attempted to remove it and it caused them great discomfort and pain, and when we did manage to chip a piece off, they started bleeding and it didn't seem to regrow, but did seem to heal. Traditional Clothing

The race seems to wear similar formal clothing, an all-white hakama with a black sash around the waist. They wear face paint around the eyes and bones from varying skulls on their head. When they're not wearing formal they usually wear Kimonos and Yukatas as casual wear. 

 

Honorable Swordsmanship

The children of the race are trained from a young age to wield swords of different types. Whatever the choice is, they are rose on the blade, being taught how to use it properly. Those who aren't able to wield a blade are sent off to work on farms or in homes, it doesn't even matter the gender of the person, they're treated relatively equally. Once Berongga is deemed a warrior, they are taught the Magic Beam art, and if they show skill with that, they are permitted the use of the clan's face painting.

 

 Gender Roles

The gender roles in the clan don't seem to be a thing, women can be a warrior or a cook. A man can be a cook or a farm worker, there aren't any set roles for men and women to fill. It's usually as simple as if a person isn't deemed a hunter and fails to show skill with the sword or the Beam Art, they are relegated to working on the farm. Due to the lack of gender roles, men and women seem to get along much better than when women are less than men, or vice versa.

From where they're originally from, they carried their language. They speak Oorarin, which is their race's language from their home.

Berongga grow to full maturity after 30 years, and usually, live for 200 years, but if they manage to achieve their full potential, they can live into their late 300s.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
