Homebrew Awakened Skeleton Species Details

In the deeps of an old tomb, the bones of the dead walk once more, be mindless hordes serving a powerfull necromancer or cursed protectors of an old tresure, living skeletons are almost a granted when venturing inside forgotten places.

After centuries of walking mindlessly, some of them recover a fraction of their humanity, a wisp of conscience that awakens the mind inside the old bones; does who do are reborn as awakened skeletons

Awakened Skeleton Traits

As an Awakened skeleton, you have the following racial traits

Creature type

Even though you were rised by necromancy and your flesh rotted long ago, there still a wisp of you former self within you. You are a humanoid, you are also considered an undead for any prerequisite or effect that requires you to be an undead

Ability score increace

As an awakened skeleton, you are light weighted nimble; Your dexterity score is increaced by 2, and another stat of your choose increaces by 1

Darkvision

Most skeletons live in deep borrows and tombs, and are used to dark places, you can see in dim light as in bright light, and in darkness as in dim light within 60 ft. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades  of gray.

Languages

As the memories return to you, also does the power of speech, you can magically speek the languages you knew in your previous life, also, you know how to speek the language of skeletons, a combination of skreeches and clackings that skeletons use to comunicate simple ideas with each other.

As you use magic to speek, you can't verbally comunicate in any language other than skeleton wile under an effect that supreses magic, such as a beholder's antimagic cone

Mend my ol'bones

As an undead, must healing spells don't work on you, but you can replace or mend some your damaged bones, as an action, you can replace some of your bones for another humanoid's bones, then you can expend a hit dice, roll it and recober a number of hit point equal to the number rolled plus your constitution modifier, you can use this feature a number of times equal to your porficiency bonus, the expended uses recober after a long rest
Alternativlly, you can spend a hit dice in the same way whenever the mending spell is cast on you, with out spending a use of this feature

Undead nature

You don't need to eat, drink, sleep or breathe, you gain the effects of a long rest by staying in a motionless state for at least 6 hours, during this time, you are conscious and fully aware of your surroundings
