Homebrew Alakazam Species Details
Originating from an island nation far away, Alakazam are humanoid beings with unbelievable psychic powers. They have a thirst for knowledge, which leads them to leave their homes and explore the world, working as sages and acolytes and historians and applying their mental abilities to any field.
Size
Alakazam stand from a little under to a few inches over five feet tall, and weigh around one hundred pounds.
Appearance
Alakazam are humanoid in silhouette, but are very slender. Their hide is a smooth yellowish color, but is thicker and a brown color on their torso and shoulders and forearms, as well as their knees. They have two fingers and a thumb on their hands, and two forward-facing toes and one pointing backwards; these toes have short claws. They have two blunt ear-like spikes on their heads and long, thin snouts, and wide and very pronounced cheekbones that stick out. All Alakazam have whiskery yellow mustaches that reach down to their collar bones; the mustaches of males are longer, sometimes reaching down to their elbows. Their eyes tend to be dark browns and blacks.
Age
Alakazam mature physically very quickly, in about ten years, but consider themselves adults later, typically when they are about forty years old. They can live long lives, up to two hundred years, but are considered elderly at 175.
Alignment
Strongly favoring logic, Alakazam gravitate towards Lawful and Neutral alignments, but their vast intellect can lead to them developing an unorthodox worldview of some other alignment.
Language
Able to communicate telepathically, Alakazam have no true language of their own, and will absorb the common language of nearby communities. When not communicating telepathically they typically will use a single word and vary the intonation and pitch of it to convey their mood.

Alakazam have brains that continuously grow over their lifetimes. You have +1 Wisdom and Intelligence, and a choice of +1 Wisdom or Intelligence. You also have perfect recall of events you have witnessed in the past month.
Telepathy
You have Telepathy out to 60 feet, and can use it to communicate with creatures that have an Intelligence score of 4 or more.
Psychic Type
The psionic energy pulsing within Alakazam lets them shrug of mental damage. You have resistance to Psychic damage.
Telekinesis
Alakazam have advanced psionic abilities that first manifest as simple telekinesis, then expand to almost subconscious prolonged uses of telekinesis, and finally culminate in their infamous ability to vanish into thin air without warning.
You know the Mage Hand cantrip, and the hand is invisible when you cast the cantrip with this trait. At 3rd level, you can cast the Unseen Servant spell. At 5th level, you can cast the Misty Step spell. Once you cast Unseen Servant or Misty Step with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level. None of these spells require spell components when you cast them with this trait.
Psionic Resilience
The advanced psionic capabilities of Alakazam give them minor precognitive powers that allow them to easily avoid magic. You have advantage on Intelligence and Wisdom saving throws against spells.
