Homebrew Boarfolk Species Details
Once, the wild gods roamed the lands, carving out the earth with each mighty step. One of these gods was Kon the Breaker, a tenacious beast that shattered the earths beneath their hooves. They were one of the strongest of the wild gods, rivaled only by Freaw the Grizzled. For a time, the two merely engaged in small territorial spats, tearing chasms and uplifting mountains in the process, but soon this would turn into much more. Freaw, greatly angered by her last loss, sought out Saash the Quick. Slamming their fellow god to the ground, they flayed them and took their mighty venom. Dousing their claws in the black liquid, they challenged Kon once again. All it took was one swipe for Kon to realize what had happened. Poisoned and decaying, Kon did the unexpected. They slammed Freaw into the ground, shattering the earth and splitting the land apart. Against the odds, Kon held their own, but it wasn't to last. On the third day, the venom had finally worked it's way into Kon's brain, finishing them off. As the wild god slumped to the ground, their uncorrupted heart thumped with grit. Very soon, the untouched blood gushed forth from the dead god, creating the first boars. Freaw was not prepared for this, and was quickly overrun by the growing masses. Now as legion, the boars smashed their murderer to the frozen norths, easily avoiding the poisoned claws swiping at their heads. In the heart of the north, they dumped the broken body of Freaw, leaving them to die in the frozen wastes. As the boars left, The spirit of Freaw split amongst her teeth, and the first bears were formed. Since then, boars and bears have been hated enemies. Such it has been, and so it will always be.
As the millennia passed, the beasts of the world slowly begin to change. It started with the apes, but very soon, all beasts began to follow. The boarfolk were one of the first to follow the apes, their resilient nature easily allowing them to thrive in these new forms. While never quite as successful as some of the other races, they were a race to be reckoned with, and it was rumored that not even death could hold them back...
