Homebrew Vulcan Species Details

Vulcans are fiery humanoids who live in The Vulcan Isles. Their largest city is the city of Canaid, which sits atop the gateway into Kambo. Vulcans are largely social beings who are perhaps the least secluded of all the primordial races. This is part of how everyone outside of them came to know their islands as The Vulcan Isles, and Kambo as the Vulcan Heart. They value water as much fire—for they know the dangers of fire and value balance and control. The most honored parts of Canaid are the parts of the city exist under the surface of the Vulcano. Vulcans are passionate people who love adrenaline and joy, and they are as such some of the best crafters of whiskey, coffee, and many other pleasurable substances. While many vulcans do enjoy the pleasures of sex they rarely do so to reproduce—vulcan births take place very rarely. Rather, when vulcans die they naturally and immediately (after their death saves) burn away into ashes (but these ashes count as the body for the purpose of reviving magics). These ashes are collected, and as part of vulcan ritual become a newborn baby (per Kanxs’ greatest gift to them—Gwhor’s power of rebirth). Traditionally these babies are raised either by the deceased’s family, a trusted family friend, or a couple looking to raise a vulcan child. Whatever the case this is usually decided as part of the creation of a will. If there is no will, it is decided by the closest member(s) of their family. If there are no such family members, then it is usually decided by the vulcan priests/elders. As for religion, Vulcans prize the balance of control and passion, and primarily worship Kanxs and Brigos.

Look

Vulcans have skin that has flashes of bright and dimly glowing yellows, oranges, and reds and commonly have dark birthmark spots that may come in all kinds of shapes. Their hair often comes in similar shades as their skin and may include variations of many/two long/short straight/curved horns. Their eyes come in many colors of chemical flame such as green, blue, yellow, lavender, white, etc.

Light the Way

Thanks to your fiery origins your body can glow bright, as a free action, lighting the way for others to see. You shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. This can be activated or deactivated at will.

Fire Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage.

Titan's Wrath

You know the produce flame cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the burning hands spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the heat metal spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Ability Score Increase

Your DEX score increases by 1, your CHA score increases by 1, your INT score increases by 1.
