Appearance

A majority of Anubises will have dark to tanned skin, considering that they thrive in the sun. They also typically have tall black canine ears, often pierced with jewellery or dyed black to match that of Anubis. Their hair usually comes in dark varieties. Their feet and hands are donned with thick paw-pads and sturdy claws. It is also not uncommon for Anubises to have painted nails, or dark makeup on their faces for fun pattern-looks, often looking like a tidier version of war paint. Regal Anubises, or Anubises going to fancy parties will often wear large golden necklaces. Very regal ones will wear headpieces with gold and blue stripes, like that of Anubis himself. Anubises love to accessorise, often making them look rather charming and charismatic.

Alignment/culture

Much like the god of afterlife, Anubis, Anubi as a society have a typically lawful neutral alignment. They worship him a lot, considering that they look like a spitting image of the god in their opinions. This gives them positive connotations with death and afterlife in their opinion. They have a lot of death related festivals.

They live in service to their ruling queen Micho. She’s revered as a lovely and fair ruler to all, and the people hold a deep respect for her

They have a few intense etiquette rules, particularly around head-petting. It is extremely frowned upon for strangers to pat the head of an Anubis. If you’re not an Anubis, do not pet an Anubis unless you are very close with them, or unless they give you very specific permission. For a non-Anubis to pet the head of an Anubis is practically high treason in some cases. Best case, they glare you out of the room. Worst case, you get punished. Petting the head of an Anubis is like the Anubis equivalent of “Go **** yourself”. It has connotations with subservience to humans, which they absolutely detest.
