Homebrew Artickocra Species Details
A flightless winged people who originated on the Elemental Plane of Water, Artickocra dash through the water wherever they please.
From first glace, Artickocra look like small birds and thus are sometimes called birdfolk. Standing upright, Artickocra are typically about 2-4 feet tall, and they have short, narrow legs that taper to sharp talons. Feathers cover their bodies—usually black, gray, and white. Each Artickocra enjoy their distinguishing traits. Since they are usually within a certain spectrum of color Artickocra will take berries or shells to make themselves something unique to themselves so they can be identified easily.
Creating Your Character
At 1st level, you choose whether your character is a member of the human race or of a fantastical race. If you select a fantastical race, follow these additional rules during character creation.
Ability Score Increases
When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy. The “Quick Build” section for your character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You can follow those suggestions or ignore them, but you can’t raise any of your scores above 20.

Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character.

Artickocra Traits
As a Artickocra you have the following features.Slide and Glide
While you are standing if you have 5 feet of running room you may activate a slide. This allows you to dash in a straight line on your stomach. When you do this you double your speed for that turn. You may move through any creatures square that is at least 1 size larger than you. This is considered a free action. If you use this trait on your next turn you are considered prone unless you have a Dex of 18 or more in which case you can use a bonus action to negate the prone.
You can use this feature a number a times a day equal to your proficiency bonus.
Trip
A number of times a day equal to your proficiency bonus while using your Slide and Glide feature you may trip up an enemy who's square you pass through. They must make a dexterity saving through versus your dex save DC or fall prone.
Cold Resistance
You are used to the cold climates.

Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your walking speed is 25 feet.
