Homebrew Death Druid Species Details

Death has a Look

All the remaining 34 Death Druids have skulls on their head. The ones that do not live in the Smokey Peaks have been exiled with an estimated number of 7 that have left the village. They all have an a type of aura that they are called by the first 20 years of their life. So if they get warm colors they are considered royal and powerful. If they get a cold color then they are considered to die at a young age and are very weak. Red is the most powerful. The first 20 years of their life they are called by their color and they year they were born (ex. blue267) All of the ones that live on Smokey Peaks have full skulls, long horns and are strong. Avernus, the volcano in the middle of the mountain is where they sacrifice the young that do not have a growth spurt by the time they turn 10. They are also thrown in the volcano if they are the 6th baby that they have had that year. If they survive the entail throw into it they are banished from the town eternally. 

Xileus: Town of the Death Druids

Long ago, Death Druids ruled the lands. Everyone feared them with their numbers in the billions. The fearsome leader, Alapas was the ruler of the entire world at the time until a great wizard names, Ofarius trapped him inside a bottle. The bottle since then has been hidden in a sacred cave hidden from the public. He took the other Death Druids and hid them in a dimension which they could not escape from.  About 4,000 years later a warlock named, Xileus set the Death Druids free and Xileus has been a hero to them. They named the town after Xileus in his honor. They worshiped him as a god while their numbers grew. One day Xileus had been transformed by a ritual into a Death Druid. He was the newfound king. In the future he had a daughter and a son. The son had been proven weak and they decided to start the ritual of throwing them in the volcano. Years later him and his daughter had been captured by a group of humans after he came from the top of the mountain.

Death Druid Traits

The Death Druids hold many secrets and here are some of them.

Dark Vision

Due to your nature of living in the Smokey Peaks you have the ability to see up to 50ft ahead of you in the dark. In the light however, you do not see as well.

Languages

Because of you living in the town Xileus you speak Xileusish and Undercommon.

Age

Young Death Druids take their time while they grow. About 1 year after they are born they are to the point of them running and walking but don't often need to because of their parents caring them around. The oldest Death Druids live up to 300 but rarely live over 350. 

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30, your climbing speed 15 and your flying speed 5 but it is gliding.

Glide

You have the ability to glide.

Shape Shift

If they are over the age of 20 they have the ability to shape shift in some areas. They not shapeshift deep underground and not inside enclosed spaces unless they are near humans(ex. inside a house) If they are in their natural form near humans they will immediately shapeshift into something.
