Homebrew Underdark Dwelf (2.0) Species Details
The Dwelf of the underdark are an uncommon race since unions between drow and duergar are rare and many such children are abandoned by their parents. Those who survive to adulthood do so for a variety of reasons, which will effect their culture, alignment and decision to become adventures. Perhaps one young dwelf, took after her drow parent's appearance enough to be accepted into Drow society. Or, perhaps, another dwelf was raised in the surface world, not in the underdark. Another might find solace with other similarly unwelcome creatures in the underdark. All these possibilities and many more will determine the dwelf's view of the world and its inhabitants.
Underdark Dwelf (2.0) Traits
They inherit traits from both parents.Superior Darkvision
Your darkvision has a radius of 120 feet.
Sunlight Sensitivity
You have disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
Duergar Resilience
You have advantage on saving throws against illusions and against being charmed or paralyzed.
Drow Magic
You know the dancing lights cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the faerie fire spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Ability Score Increase
Your Charisma score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1. It is recommended, but not required, that you select: Dexterity, Strength, or Constitution seeing that those are the abilities, which are increased in Drow and Duergar.
Age
A dwelf reaches adulthood around 75 and can live to be 550 years old.
Size
Underdark dwelves average above 5 feet tall, but can range from just over 4 feet to just under 6 feet. They tend to have lean builds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common, Undercommon and either Elvish OR Dwarven.
