Homebrew Boggemeth, the Warped Humans Species Details

These were the accounts of an unfortunate people who long ago were spirited from their homes by abberations, treated as cattle prodded and eaten, then torn limb from limb and sewn back together again in one of many bizarre experiments.  The sheer horror of the acts described was enough to make me hurl, I wandered how anyone could have the emotional durability to recall these events, to place them so well on paper without a hint of fear or disgust. In every account there was a lack energy, a lack of emotion, that mourned from every page. Long into the night I read, reigniting my lantern over and over, captivated in the clinical expression of this people's suffering.

A Warped Appearance

The sense of beauty for many abberations is rather scewed, but to them, their little masterpieces were as beautiful as a humanoid could get. Mixing the traits of vampirism, lycanthropy, descendants of giants, infernals, celestials and dragons, and finally some of the traits of the other races, one struggled to decipher the appearance of these people.

The Boggemeth possessed the hairy body of someone with lycanthopy, growing thick even on the hands and feet. They possessed the sickly pale skin of vampires, and the sharp fangs too, but their skin was not as smooth, instead their skin seemed to take the shape of small, thin scales across much of their body. They possessed Large black horns on their heads, similar to those descended from demons, but their eyes shined same as those descended from celestials. And their limbs were slightly too long for their body, although not as much as a bugbear.

They stood a head taller than most humans, and had a wiry muscular frame that possessed little to no fat, allowing one to see the movement of every muscle underneath their thick and hairy skin.

Emotionally Distant

Though still human, these individuals are commonly much less animated in their emotions, passions and drive for accomplishment. Despite any hardship they endure, they are incredibly unwavering in their patience and calm, to the point that they seem to be both unthreatened and unimpressed by everything. It's unnerving to many, especially considering their odd appearance, as such they are often treated with heavy skepticism, sometimes even outright hostility, despite their naturally kind disposition.

Eternal Soldiers and Servants

As part of their creation, the abberations sought to have the Boggemeths serve them as soldiers and helpers. As such they warped their nature to have a disposition for helping others, and a knack for enjoying fighting, and to avoid the hastle of having to replace too many of them, they also warped their livespans to such a great degree, that in the many centuries since their creation, none have shown signs of aging. Now that they have escaped their tormentors, they often roam from settlement to settlement, offering aid as adventures, or seeking employment as soldiers, mercenaries or gladiators.

Due to their age, they are often found serving as a protector of the descendants of someone they swore an oath to generations prior. Acting like a god-parent to those that they give their loyalty. It's not uncommon for an old noble house to have one or two of these Boggemeths who remember the time when the family head was nothing more than a rich commoner.
